The Prescott Badgers had to delay their season opener due to weather, making the home opener versus the Cactus Shadows Falcons instead of Sunrise Mountain. Things did not go as planned.

Jake Schulz had the honors on the hill, but the senior had a tough day, going four plus innings, giving up seven runs, six earned, as the Falcons beat the Badgers 10-2.

The Falcons jumped on top 1-0 in the first inning, added three more in the third, and three more in the fifth, to go up 7-0, chasing Schulz. Meanwhile, the Badgers could not figure out Cactus Shadows starting pitcher Matt Bohnert, who gave up only one hit in five innings. He also struck out eight, but walked three in gaining the win.

The Badgers scored twice in the sixth to trail 7-2, but the Falcons added three more in the top of the seventh.

Ryan Greene had two hits, a single and double, scored a run and had an RBI for the Badgers.

Peyton McGregor had a three run homer for the Falcons (5-2). Prescott drops to (1-4).

Kody Jones earned the win by going five innings, giving up one run on two hits. Hat was even more impressive was his control on the hill. Jones struck out six and did not allow a walk.

Erubiel Franco pitched the final two innings giving up a run on four hits.
