On Friday August 16th, 2019 at approximately 1720 hours the Prescott Police Department responded to the area of Iron Springs Road just west of the intersection of Gail Gardner Way in regards to a rollover traffic crash which involved a supervisor’s vehicle from Lifeline Ambulance and another vehicle.
The investigation revealed that a fully marked Lifeline supervisor’s vehicle was responding to an emergency call for service “code 3” with lights and siren and traveling westbound on Iron Springs Road. A vehicle traveling eastbound moved into the two way left turn lane and failed to yield to the emergency vehicle and made a left turn directly in front of the Lifeline vehicle. This caused the Lifleline vehicle to collide with the passenger side of a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country van, driven by sixty-eight year old Barbara Lehman of Prescott, causing the vehicle to roll onto the driver’s side. No injuries were reported by either driver and both vehicles sustained major damage. The driver of the Chrysler was issued a citation as a result of the collision.
It was very fortunate that no one was injured in this traffic crash, we would like to remind everyone to please watch for emergency vehicles and always make sure that you yield to emergency vehicles that are responding with lights and sirens. Slow down and move to the right side of the road if it is safe to do so, if you are not able to do so then please come to a complete stop where you are and remain there until the emergency vehicle passes your location.
