Prescott Valley Police makes Methamphetamine Bust

Police find 52 lbs of meth during traffic stop


 On Thursday, March 21, 2019, at about 10:10 AM, two Prescott Valley Police K9 officers were working a Drug Interdiction detail along Interstate 17 (I-17) in Yavapai County. The K9 units conducted an Interstate Highway traffic stop on a silver Chevrolet Suburban with a California license plate.

 The officers contacted the driver Alberto Vasquez age 26 and the passenger Patricio Quintero age 23, neither men had identification. Officers asked Alberto for consent to search the vehicle, which he gave. The officers discovered various bundles of a white crystal-like substance. Both Alberto Vasquez and Patricio Quintero were arrested and transported to the Prescott Valley Police Department. The vehicle was transported to the police department were officers conducted a complete search of the Suburban, finding 52 pounds of Methamphetamine. 

Both Alberto Vasquez and Patricio Quintero were booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of Transportation of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Class 2 Felony; Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Class 2 Felony; and Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Class 6 Felony. 

This case remains under investigation.
