Christmas Light Parade Brings a Glow of Festivity

30 November 2014

The Christmas Light Parade starts the holiday season with good tidings and great cheer in Prescott - Arizona’s official Christmas City.

Thousands of people lined the streets of downtown Prescott Saturday evening, to enjoy the Christmas Holiday Lights Parade, sponsored by the Prescott Downtown Partnership (PDP).

It was the 19th Annual Holiday Light Parade, and the PDP made a few notable changes this year, by lengthening the route, and ending the parade with an after party and bonfire at Prescott Mile High Middle School.

Including the Santa finale, there were 37 floats this year representing businesses, schools and municipalities. The Chino Valley High School Marching Band provided a merry Christmas flair, and a couple of fire engines brought a grin to childrens’ faces. Some familiar favorites, such as the Patriot truck and the children’s toys continued to delight even those who had seen them for many years in a row.
