'The Art of Storm Chasing' Comes to ERAU

Weather Enthusiasts from ERAU and the Community will want to attend this event

As part of the College of Aviation Seminar Series, Mr. Mike Olbinski, famous storm photographer, will be giving a presentation entitled “The Art of Storm Chasing” in the Jim and Linda Lee Planetarium at Embry-Riddle on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 12:00 – 12:50 PM. His presentation will include a bit of history about himself, how he got into storm chasing, the big breaks along the way, and how he has become a renowned storm photographer. He will include stories about how he obtained some of his footage and will share many of his photos and time-lapse clips with us. His presentation will end with a 10-minute planetarium show inside the dome of the planetarium of his time-lapse photography collection entitled “Monsoon IV”.

His Booker supercell time-lapse was the #1 most played video on Vimeo for 2013 and a clip from that same time-lapse was licensed by Marvel Studios and appeared in Thor: The Dark World. His photos have been featured in Arizona Highways, National Geographic Travel and Wired. His time-lapse clips have been licensed by clients such as Al Gore, Lamborghini, Dolby, National Geographic, BBC History, Ford, All-State and maybe more.
