Williamson Valley / Chino Valley Proposed Connector Road Study

05 March 2017   Kathy Lopez

Update- Public Comment Period Has Been Extended to April 8th

The Yavapai County Public Works Department and their design engineer, Lyons Engineering, are conducting a $320,000 study for a new two lane highway connecting the Williamson Valley area and the Town of Chino Valley at an estimated expenditure of $13,000,000. The main route under study during 2017 would run from Nancy Dr. (south of Talking Rock Ranch Development), along Brenda Trail, east on Center St. to Reed Road. Eventually extending to HWY 89 beside the Chino Valley High School. Residents have until March 9, 2017 to make comments on this proposal.

Amongst various perspectives, proponents say it will ease traffic on Outer Loop Road, while opponents say Outer Loop Road is not congested, that it is an unnecessary spend and that the money should be used to maintain Outer Loop Road.
