26 April 2018   Officer Dave Fuller

It’s the 2018 Summer Teen Academy

The Prescott Police Department invites area teens to get an inside look at the Prescott Police Department by attending a 2018 Teen Academy offered this July.  The academy will be of particular interest to teens with a desire to pursue a career in public safety, but will benefit any teen who wants to develop leadership skills and become more involved in the community.

Participants will learn about policing in Prescott through interactive sessions with Officers representing various Police Department functions. Time will be spent defining the skills and requirements needed to succeed in the officer selection process and training academy, with an emphasis on character, self discipline, leadership, physical and emotional wellness.  All attending will participate in team building exercises and a community project.  This fast paced and exciting 3 day academy will be highly interactive, giving participants the opportunity to experience many different facets of the Prescott Police Department.

Classes will be held on July 9, 10 and 11 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day.

Participants must be 14-18 years of age and a legal U.S. resident.  Preference will be given to Prescott residents.  Area youth wishing to participate in this inaugural event are encouraged to apply.
