CrimeMapping helps citizens to be better informed and more vigilant.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce a partnership with CrimeMapping.com in our effort to proactively share information with the public. This website allows residents to see a map of recent crime incidents near any selected address in Yavapai County. The user can also select crime types and date ranges, generate reports and receive e-mail updates as well as crime alerts. Incident report numbers are also available as a reference for follow-up.

The free program is available by accessing a link on the YCSO home page at www.ycsoaz.gov or directly at www.CrimeMapping.com. Once on the site, a US map will be displayed. Just click over the state of Arizona to reveal those agencies participating in CrimeMapping. Open the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office link to reveal a map of Yavapai County with visible crime data displayed. There is a 24-hour delay in linking incident history to the site.

We encourage users to explore the site and the many different ways you can tailor results to your particular interest. Again, this includes the ability to select specific crime types, such as burglary and fraud, for review. Remember, residents who are aware of activity around them are better equipped to assist YCSO by reporting related concerns which can aid to solve crimes in your neighborhoods.

Don’t forget the email alert capability that allows notification for selected crime types up to a 2 mile radius from your home or business. There is even a free application for use on the IPhone.
