During an apparent argument over military differences, a stabbing occurred.
George Edward Moyer, 47
On Wednesday, February 13, at approximately 10 PM, the
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 3900 block of Center Street in Chino Valley regarding a knife assault in progress. As deputies arrived in the area, they found 45-year-old Jeffery Justice walking away from the residence. The deputies saw that Justice was bleeding as the result of a laceration to his face and neck. Justice was transported to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center for treatment and interviewed by assisting deputies.
At the residence, deputies contacted 47-year-old George Edward Moyer of Prescott, who was treated at the scene for a hand injury. Deputies found a kitchen knife in a pool of blood near the entrance to the home. Moyer admitted to arguing with Justice over military service differences and claimed Justice stabbed him with the knife. A witness to the argument saw Moyer exit the kitchen with the knife and at no time saw Justice in possession of a knife.
Based on the evidence and witness statement, Moyer was arrested for Aggravated Assault and booked at the YCSO jail.
