Prescott Police and U.S. Marshal’s Office Arrest 20-Year Fugitive

At approximately 3:00 P.M. yesterday, Prescott Police detective’s assisted the United States Marshal’s Office in seeking out and arresting a fugitive out of California who has been on the run for over twenty years on an Attempted Homicide warrant.

The above undercover law enforcement personnel went to the C-Stop Convenience Mart in the 300 block of Grove Avenue where they arrested the store’s owner, a Prescott resident identified as 57-year-old Nick Ayoub. Nick Ayoub had eluded law enforcement personnel under a false name, posing as his 57-year-old brother, Walid Ayoub.

Nick Ayoub had initially been convicted of Attempted Homicide after shooting his ex-girlfriend in California at a time when she was walking with her current boyfriend in 1990. Ayoub had been convicted and sentenced in court but did not show up to surrender himself to incarceration when ordered to do so by the court.

Ayoub was taken into custody, resulting in the convenience store to close. He was booked into the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office jail where he is being held without bond pending his extradition to California.
