According to Traffic Sgt. Tim Fletcher, the driver of the truck was southbound and crossed over two lanes of traffic crashing into the end of a retaining wall on the east side of the road.

Fletcher said it was unknown if a medical emergency triggered the accident, or if the driver simply lost control of the truck. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was immediately transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center. 

Sgt. Fletcher said he did not know the current condition of the driver, but confirmed that the injuries were extremely serious. 

The name of the driver is being withheld until family members have been contacted. 

No other vehicles were involved. All lanes of traffic were opened up by 11:15 am.

Update: 10:30 am: According to Prescott Dispatch, the patient is already being transported. No other details at this time.

We've received word of an accident on Willow Creek Road, south of Smoke Tree. We don't have any further details than that at this moment, but the report sounded as if it might be very serious.
