Update: Eastbound I-40 is now open and passable. Here is a link to the cameras on I-40 at Ash Fork Hill and also at Crookton

On 12/08/09 at 1929 hours Eastbound I-40 is closed indefinitely due to being blocked by multiple collisions in the area - at least 8 to 10 - as well as at least a one mile back up. The closure is at mile post 113 which is about eight miles west of Seligman.

The collisions stretch all the way to mile post 136 near Ash Fork. We also have several stranded motorists who have slid off of the roadway or are otherwise become disabled. An alternate route has not been established as of yet. Roads continue to be icy due to the sub- freezing temperatures and motorists must slow down accordingly.
