Update: For more information on this accident, see: A Fatal Collision On SR 69 Caused Last Night's Road Closure

On 11/05/09 at 1800 hours, SR69 was closed at MP 277.5 due to a serious injury collision. Southbound traffic on SR69 is being rerouted onto SR169 towards I-17. Northbound traffic on SR69 is stopped at this time.

It may be opened in about 45 minutes to clear traffic in the immediate area of the collision scene. Any travelers needing to head north on SR69 are urged to take I-17 north to the SR169 exit and back over to SR69 where they can go north from there. The closure is expected to be in effect at least four hours. That is all the information I have at this time.

For further updates on the road closure motorists can call 511 or go online to www.az511.com for ADOT updates.
