It's the News Week in Review for the Arizona's Centennial Week.

It was a busy week in Prescott, as the quad-city communties took time to celebrate the centennial. From trees to fireworks, the celebrations included as many Yavapai County folks as possible.

There were several Centennial Celebrations, and during one, Judge Mackey took time during the tree planting to explain why the Centennial Tree was especially significant to him. The Planting of a Tree; The Making of History

And a Federal Judge dismissed several counts of a lawsuit against the City of Prescott, as is detailed in this article: Court Dismisses 5 of 7 Counts in Riley vs. City of Prescott Lawsuit

There were other news stories this week, too.

Despite encouragement from statewide representatives of online bloggers, the legislation that would have allowed public notices to be posted online failed to pass in the committee. If it had passed, this measure would have saved thousands and millions of taxpayer dollars. Read: 'It's Not About the Money' They Say

And finally, Pinal County Sheriff, who is also a candidate for Congressional District 4, held a press conference yesterday to deny allegations of wrong-doing, but to admit that he is gay. You can see a video of that press conference here: Sheriff Babeu Holds a Press Conference: "I'm Gay"
