Two Forest Fires Burning South of Prescott

Two forest fires are burning south of Prescott - the Battle Fire, approximately 50 acres and the Ash Creek Fire, approximately 2 acres.

firePRESCOTT, AZ (July 20, 2009) - The Battle Fire was reported on Monday, July 20 at 12:00 pm. Located approximately 15 miles south of Prescott the fire is approximately 50 acres burning in light brush and grass; no structures are threatened.

Resources assigned to the Battle Fire include two engines, two helicopters, two airtankers, one Type 2 crew, one Type 1 crew and several miscellaneous firefighting personnel.

A second fire was also reported on Monday, July 20 approximately 11 miles south of Prescott. The Ash Creek Fire is 2 acres and fire fighters have constructed a line around the perimeter.
