Burglaries in the Prescott Area

Over the past several weeks there have been multiple burglaries in the Prescott area. The majority of the burglaries have occurred on the north side of Prescott; however they have not been limited to just the northern portion of the city.

The thieves appear to be opportunists and they are looking for unsecured targets. They are stealing from unlocked vehicles, homes and business. They primarily take small electronic items and cash.

Prescott Police Detectives are using evidence and witness information in an attempt to develop a suspect or suspects in this string of burglaries but they have not yet discovered the identity of the criminals involved in these thefts.

The Prescott Police Department would like to remind everyone to lock their vehicles and homes when they are left unattended. Remember to remove valuables from your vehicles and take them with you.

The Prescott Police Department offers a “Property Watch Program” which provides increased patrols while you are away from home for an extended period of time. This program is available at no cost to anyone who lives in the Prescott city limits. Details about this program are available by calling (928) 777-1900 or at the front counter of the Prescott Police Department.

The police department reminds everyone to keep an eye out for suspicious activity and ask that they report this activity to the police department immediately. They can do this by calling (928) 445-3131 or in emergency situations by dialing 911.
