Crime Series Alert – Vehicle Burglaries in Castle Canyon Mesa & PV

There's been a series of vehicle burglaries in Castle Canyon Mesa.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office would like to alert residents in the Castle Canyon Mesa area of Prescott Valley to a recent series of vehicle burglaries. The incidents are as follows:

  1. Report to YCSO January 17, 2012 - occurred in the 6200 block of Dragon Lane during overnight hours involving 2 UNLOCKED vehicles. Stolen items include a backpack, IPOD “Classic” with 160 gigabyte memory, and purse containing the victim’s wallet with driver’s license and social security card.  
  2. Report to YCSO January 27, 2012 – occurred in the 6200 block of Jester Circle sometime near the midnight hour. Items taken from an UNLOCKED vehicle include a wallet, cell phone, vehicle keys, and a backpack.
  3. Trespass/Burglary and possibly related – Report to YCSO January 4, 2012, regarding an unoccupied home in the 3100 block of North Kings Highway East. Deputies were told a transient has been seen sleeping in the garage on this property. The suspected transient has not been located. Be aware of suspicious activity at this location involving persons who might be connected.

Please remember to remove valuables from your parked vehicle and ALWAYS take an extra few seconds to lock your car. Be alert to potential suspects in this area during evening and early morning hours and report suspicious activity immediately.
