Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) are ridding the streets of deadly narcotics.
First, PANT Detectives received information that Becky Comstock, 39, of Chino Valley was involved in the ongoing sale of fentanyl in the area. On April 11, 2022, during investigations, Ms. Comstock was stopped by Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office K-9 units near Dewey. The K-9 was deployed to air-sniff and positively alerted to the vehicle. Upon a search of the vehicle, approximately 200 fentanyl pills, 2 grams of methamphetamine, and 1 gram of heroin were located. Ms. Comstock was booked in the Yavapai County Jail on several drug related charges.
Then on April 12, 2022, PANT detectives received information about a substantial fentanyl supplier in Prescott, Ariz., Robert Steven Haines, 67, of Prescott. Prescott Police Department K-9’s stopped the suspected drug dealer’s vehicle where a K-9 air sniff positively alerted to the vehicle. A search was made and roughly 3000 fentanyl pills were found, and Mr. Haines was taken into custody.
Meanwhile, on Interstate 17, the PANT K-9 Interdiction Unit made several stops resulting in the seizure of large quantities of narcotics. During the month of April alone, YCSO K-9’s located nearly 1lb. of cocaine, 12 lbs. of methamphetamine, and over 100,000 fentanyl pills. Most of which were traveling through Yavapai County destined for other parts of the United States.
With diligence, professionalism, and precise action, PANT, and other local Law Enforcement Agencies combined forces to successfully get 103,000 fentanyl pills, and two significant dealers off the streets of Arizona. Without respect and strong working partnerships between agencies, these community-wins are far less accessible.
