Domestic Violence Case Leads to Arrest for Attempted Homicide – Prescott Police Department

On September 20, 2023, at just after midnight, the Prescott Police Department responded to the 200 block of Thoroughbred Drive regarding a report of a shooting that just occurred at a residence.

Upon arrival it was determined that a male victim had suffered a gunshot wound to his wrist. He was immediately treated on scene; ground transported to a local hospital and was then flown for non-life-threatening injuries to a hospital in the Phoenix area.

The investigation revealed that involved parties were in the middle of a divorce and had been separated for several months. The suspect, identified as 62-year-old Christina Pasqualetto, was living at their home in Gilbert while the victim lived in their Prescott Home. The 80-year-old victim, Jon Pasqualetto, reportedly had changed the locks at the house in Prescott but reported that keys (along with other items) had gone missing and suspected his wife of taking them.

During the interview with the suspect, she admitted that she did not want to get divorced and drove from Gilbert to the Prescott home and arrived shortly before midnight. The suspect reported that when she arrived the victim was in bed, and she came into the bedroom where a verbal argument ensued about the divorce. When he told her that he still wanted to get a divorce and wasn’t changing his mind, she produced a handgun and shot him while he was still in bed.

After the victim was shot a physical altercation ensued and the victim was able to knock her down, the gun came out of her hand, and he attempted to escape the house. During that time the victim did strike the suspect with his hands and elbows to escape the situation. The victim was ultimately able to escape and ran to a neighbor’s house to call 9-1-1.

The victim also advised officers that the suspect had stolen checks (from his personal account) and forged a check about a week prior for $10,000 and cashed it. The suspect admitted to the forgery and theft in an interview with detectives. A deposit slip was found in her purse by officers that matched the transaction.

The suspect was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Forgery and Theft.
