23 May 2017   BASIS Prescott

Small Graduating Class- Huge Statistics

BASIS Prescott, a globally competitive charter school that opened in 2014, hosted it’s first graduation ceremony at Embry Riddle on May 20th. Eleven students walked across the stage to receive their diploma, but between those 11 students, their achievements are anything but small:

  • 82 college acceptances
  • Over $2,567,224 in merit-based scholarships
  • 1 National Merit Scholar
  • 1 National Hispanic Scholar
  • 1 National Commended Scholar
  • 9 AP scholars

What is the secret to their success? Hard work, perseverance, and a college prep curriculum. It all begins in Kindergarten at BASIS, where students learn Engineering and Mandarin, to name a few.

They make their way through middle school where they learn Physics, Chemistry, and Economics, culminating with their AP, college-prep high school experience.

However, don’t be fooled by the numbers, these kids like to goof off and have fun too!

From parking lot dance parties, to sports, to the Prom, they are just like any other students. The difference being that they chose a different high school path, and one that will set them soaring into college.
