Prescott Valley Celebrates its 30th Anniversary this Weekend

08 September 2008

And they have quite the celebration planned!

pv30bday2.jpg Webster’s Dictionary defines the work “kinetic” as, “Moving or causing motion.”  And “Sculpture as a “Three-dimensional work of art.”  But to the town of Prescott Valley, the Kinetic Sculpture Race is a tradition. The race is in its third year, and this time it coincides with the 30th anniversary of Prescott Valley. The race starts at 9:30 am this Saturday.

Galpin Ford is sponsoring this years World Arts Festival at the Prescott Valley Civic Center. They will feature a variety of cultural arts from around the world with, “music, visual and performing arts, crafts, community group demonstrations and high-spirited youth activities.” In addition there will be a wide variety of ethnic food and a beer and wine tasting garden.

In addition there will be a display of antique and custom cars, and three stages will be set up, (under awnings) for a variety of music and entertainment. Prescott's own Shakespearian Troup, The Arizona Shakespeare Festival will perform "As You Like It" at 11:00 am.

Other events planned for the celebration include the first annual Creative Energy Fair, which will be at the Tim’s Toyota Center, and a ground level fire works display. The energy fair will take place on both Saturday and Sunday. All events are free and open to the public. The programs run from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. The Creative Energy Fair will be from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday.
