Bump it!
The Asian BBQ salad. It's a new restaurant out by the airport called Mustang Cafe', located inside the Legend Aviation Building at 2020 Clubhouse Drive. In addition to offering catering services, the Mustang Cafe' offers a breakfast and lunch menu sure to please pilots and their friends and passengers. Heck, even if you've nothing to do with flying, you'll enjoy this new eating place! First off, you should know that the Mustang Cafe' is not the same as Uncle Louie's hamburger joint. As a matter of fact, the only burger on the menu is called the 'Buffalo Bill', and it's a lean buffalo burger with tomato, lettuce and caramelized onions on a bun.
The Orchard salad.
For lunch, they offer a variety of sandwiches, wraps and salads. When our group ate lunch the other day, after a great deal of consideration, we chose an Asian BBQ salad, a Orchard salad and a Flyboy Favorite sandwich, all of which were eaten with appreciation. The food was fresh and the flavors were crisp, and everything was prepared exactly as expected. When we asked to swap from a wrap sandwich to one made of focaccia bread, there were no problems in accomodating the special order. For breakfast, granola and fresh fruit top the menu list, followed by a wide selection of breakfast paninis (hot pressed morning sandwiches). For $7.99, you can choose from the Kitty Hawk (cinnnamon-raisin bread with smoked bacon and cheddar cheese), the Pilot (focaccia with eggs, green chiles, turkey and cheddar cheese) the Howdy-Do-Dee (focaccia with ham, eggs, tomato, mushrooms and swiss cheese) to name only a few. A couple more things, in addition to the excellent food: service and surroundings. The service was very attentive and polite, but more than that, our waitress had plenty of personality. Great service just makes a meal tastier and more enjoyable. As far as surroundings, since you're right on the edge of the airport, you can watch the flights coming in and out through the large windows. There's also a patio, which presumably will be opened up in the summer time. If you've got business out at the airport, it's a no-brainer to stop in and have a meal at the Mustang Cafe'. And if not, well, it's still worth a drive if you like yummy and creative food, great service and enjoy watching the planes come and go.
