Yavapai Humane Society will postpone the event until Saturday, April 16th due to the prediction of inclement weather.
Prescott, AZ- To help prepare for the upcoming litter season, Yavapai Humane Society is throwing a community-wide baby shower at its main shelter campus. They will be accepting donations of items and cash to buy special milk and supplies for their youngest residents.
The Baby Shower will have crafts, information about the foster program, puppy training advice, demonstrations and entertainment, face painting, vendor booths, bake sale, free balloons and more. For a complete schedule of events please visit www.yavapaihumane.org.
YHS’s foster program coordinator, Kim Lytle, will be on-hand to answer questions about becoming a foster parent to animals of all ages. The volunteer coordinator, Tanya Avery, will be available to give information about the many other ways the community can become involved with their local humane society.
At the event, YHS will also be showcasing their Blue Ribbon dogs. These dogs are enrolled in training classes with volunteer handlers during their stay at the Humane Society. Executive Director, Ed Boks says, “If the foster program is our equivalent to the Head Start program, the Blue Ribbon dogs are our college students.”
The Baby Shower will take place on Saturday, April 16 from 10am – 2pm. YHS welcomes everyone to this free event.
YHS would like to remind you to leave your pets at home to insure a safe and healthy event for all. But, you are welcome to take a new family member home with you!
