PRESCOTT, AZ—Former U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick will speak at the monthly luncheon meeting of the Democratic Women of the Prescott Area, (DWPA), which will be held February 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, 4499 E. State Route 69 in Prescott at Old Black Canyon Road. DWPA luncheons were formerly at StoneRidge Country Club.
Kirkpatrick, who represented the 1st District of Arizona for two years, will speak about her experiences and issues of concern to residents. An Arizona native, Kirkpatrick previously served in the State House of Representatives. She is a former president of the United Way of Northern Arizona and the Flagstaff Symphony Association. She also served on the Board of Directors of Big Sisters, the Flagstaff Library Foundation and the Lowell Observatory. She was Coconino County’s first female Deputy County Attorney and served Sedona as City Attorney. Her law degree is from the University of Arizona.
Reservations and advance luncheon orders are required by Feb. 11 to attend the event, which costs $13 per person for the meal.
New DWPA Executive Board officers, who were sworn in at the January meeting by new Yavapai County Democratic Party chairperson Lindsay Bell, include: Joan Cornell, chairwoman; Joyce Arnold, treasurer; and Toni Denis, secretary. New Vice Chairwoman Juliana Goswick was in Washington, D.C. testifying on food safety.
