A Bagdad representative is needed for the JTED Governing Board.

Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Mountain Institute Joint Technical Education District (JTED) Governing Board, representing the Bagdad Unified School District.

The position has been posted for several weeks without applicants. We are hopeful that interested residents of the District are willing to come forward to provide this critical public service. As of now, the voters and residents of the Bagdad School District are not represented on the Mountain Institute JTED Governing Board.

The opening was created by the resignation of Tony Carroll, who has relocated out of state for employment reasons. Mr. Carroll has been an exceptional Board Member and his service to the District is sincerely appreciated and will be missed. The resignation is effective September 30, 2011.

If you are interested in filling the vacancy, send a letter of interest and a resume to Mr. Tim Carter, Yavapai County School Superintendent, Yavapai County Education Service Agency, 1015 Fair Street, Prescott, AZ 86305-1852, Fax 928-771-3329, Email:  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Please include information about yourself, why you would like to be a board member, your residence and mailing addresses, and home/work phone numbers.  Candidates may include letters of recommendation or support if they wish.

  • be a registered voter,
  • be a citizen of the United States of America,
  • be at least 18 years of age,
  • possess their civil rights,
  • have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office,
  • and they or their spouse can not be employed by Mountain Institute.

Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 5:00 p.m.  Mr. Carter will interview finalists at the Bagdad Unified School District on Friday, December 2, 2011. The appointment should be announced by Monday, December 5, 2011 and be valid from that date through December 31, 2012.
