WooHoo! Bathrooms at the Peavine.

Construction plans for energy and water-efficient restrooms at the Peavine trailhead are currently under review. The estimated $212,000 structure, funded through park impact fees, will be built on an existing pad that was installed as a part of the trailhead paving project in 2007.

The estimate includes costs for permits and sewer and water hookup fees. Upon completion of the review process, the project will go out to bid in January, 2012.

The Parks & Recreation Department continues to generate revenue through its $2 parking fee at the Peavine and at area lakes. The city installed the four new kiosks in 2010 that have since generated more than $142,000 in revenue.

Watson Lake has drawn the most users, generating over $60,000 including the $15-per-night fee for camping at the lake. The kiosks at Goldwater Lake, Willow and the Peavine trailhead bring in $46,000, $15,000, and $21,000, respectively. Annual parking passes have accounted for an average of $10,000 per year over the past three years.

The revenue generated from parking fees are used for maintaining and improving the City of Prescott's lakes and trails system. Download an annual pass application.
