Prescott receives international media exposure

The City of Prescott’s Office of Tourism partnered with the Arizona Office of Tourism as part of the “Capital Arizona Tour,” which brought travel writers from Germany, U.K., France and Canada to Prescott.

The tour focused on Arizona’s territorial capitals, past and present, and their evolution over the last 100 years of statehood. Several Prescott-area businesses, including the Hassayampa Inn, The Palace Restaurant & Saloon, Manzanita Outdoors, The Prescott Resort and Lone Spur Café, stepped up to host different parts of the 2-day Prescott leg.

The journalists were fascinated with Prescott’s western heritage, and enjoyed tours of Sharlot Hall Museum and the Phippen Museum. Outdoors activities included kayaking and canoeing at Watson Lake, hiking the Constellation Trail and a visit to Highlands Center for Natural History. “This was a tremendous opportunity for international media to experience Prescott first-hand,” said Don Prince, Prescott’s Tourism Director. He added “Their visit can translate into favorable stories and valuable media exposure featuring Prescott.”
