Gheral Brownlow loved Christmas. Now those who loved Gheral Brownlow did something in his honor. Includes video.

Gheral Brownlow's tree all lit up.

Gheral Brownlow loved everything about Christmas. He loved the season and being with family. He loved the fact that Prescott was honored by being named 'Arizona's Christmas City' by Governor Rose Mofford twenty years ago on December 2, 1989. And Brownlow especially loved Christmas decorations.

For many years, Gheral Brownlow decorated the Courthouse Square, using other volunteers to help. And even after that project was turned over to others, he still continued to decorate the tiny little park at the corner of Sheldon Street and Gurley Street which is now known as Veteran's Memorial Park.

So, it seemed more than appropriate that the new tree planted on December 5, 2009 should be dedicated in Brownlow's memory.  (See: Veterans Memorial Island And The Gheral Brownlow Tree)

Elaborate decorations adorned the Brownlow's home, too.

The cold and cloudy weather didn't keep the nearly 50 friends and family members from gathering together. With Christmas carollers on hand, the time was a celebration of Brownlow's life and an opportunity to share memories.

Here at Prescott eNews, we love Christmas, too. And while our staff has been thankful to take the time to spend with our families and loved ones, we thought it would be a wonderful gift to our readers to share some of the moments from the Brownlow Tree Dedication.

Below are videos and a photo gallery for you to enjoy.

Jeff Demand was the emcee for the event.

Supervisor Chip Davis shared some of his memories:
