The Second Annual Buckey Awards were held with great success Saturday, March 10th. Replete with a red carpet and all the good vibes of the Elks Theatre, the evening to celebrate local art was a resounding success. Many local artists and patrons were in attendance as both presenters and honorees, all having come to support local art in all its forms.
Here are the Results: The Outstanding media artist/broadcaster award goes to Sandy Moss from KQNA. The Outstanding Arts Educator awards went to Dan Bradstreet, Band Director from Prescott High School. The outstanding Visual Artist Award went to Paul Abbott. The Outstanding Literary Artist Award went to playwright Tiffany Antone. The Performing Arts Award went to Linda Miller. The Outstanding Arts Activist Award went to Jeri Smith-Fornara. The Outstanding Arts Event went to Prescott Jazz Summit. The Outstanding Arts Organization went to Prescott College Arts Gallery at Sam Hill Warehouse. The Outstanding Musical Artist Award went to Don Cheek and the CheekTones and last but not least, Bill Nebeker was honored with an award for a Lifetime Achievement in the Arts.
