Join author, art collector and owner of the Blue Coyote Gallery, Gary Fillmore, as he discusses the David and Doreen Picerne collection at the Phippen Museum on Saturday, January 21st from 1 to 2PM. Arizona Visions, a special collection of early 20th century Southwestern landscapes, is currently on display at the Phippen Museum and includes artwork by Maynard Dixon, Ferdinand Burgdorff, John Hilton, Jessie Benton Evans, David Swing, James Swinnerton and many others.
Gary Fillmore is an art appraiser, dealer, collector, author and independent scholar and has been the owner/operator of the Blue Coyote Gallery in Cave Creek, Arizona, since 2002. In addition to specializing in regional 20th century and Native American art, he is also a regular contributor to Askart.com and has written several books, including the upcoming publication, Shadows on the Mesa: Artists of the Painted Desert and Beyond (scheduled for publication by Schiffer Books in 2012). An Arizona Vision’s exhibit catalogue will be available for purchase at the event, which includes all the pieces displayed in the exhibition and artist biographies. Gary currently lives in Cave Creek with his wife Barbara.
