During the week of Nov. 28 Mayor Marlin Kuykendall recognized a number of local community groups and also found time to participate in the annual Christmas Parade.
The Citizens Tax Committee, which includes former councilman Bob Bell, met at the Prescott Public Library' Founder's Room to announce nominees for upcoming board elections. Mayor Kuykendall gave the keynote speech and encouraged the venerable group to continue their outstanding work and grow their ranks.

Council presented proclamations on Tuesday to members of Northland Cares for World Aids Day and recently to the Prescott Victorian Society. Northland Cares operates an HIV specialty clinic at its Prescott location. The mayor read the proclamation on the courthouse steps prior to a candlelight walk held around the plaza.

The Prescott Victorian Society consists of over 40 men and women who share a passion for the history and fashion of the Victorian/Edwardian eras. Members research, teach, and perform on subjects pertaining the historical period. They were recognized for their contributions for keeping alive the character and history of Prescott's early years for the benefit of locals and tourists.
Finishing the week on Saturday afternoon, councilmen Charlie Arnold, Chris Kuknyo, Alan Carlow and Mayor Kuykendall braved the driving snow to participate in the annual Christmas parade. Steve Blair worked the parade, announcing the action for a local radio station.
