(Prescott, AZ) August 25, 2009 – The City of Prescott’s Economic Development Office and Westcor, a subsidiary of Macerich, announced today that Bed Bath and Beyond will occupy a prominent retail space at Prescott Gateway Mall.
By the holiday season, Bed Bath and Beyond will open its doors from a 30,000 square foot space, offering guests home furnishings as well as food, giftware, health and beauty care items, as well as infant and toddler merchandise. The retailer currently has over 1,000 locations nationwide.
According to marketing manager, Michelle Zdanowski, Westcor has been working diligently to “find the perfect fit to meet the needs of the center and the local community since Linens ‘N Things closed their location.”
“Bed Bath and Beyond recognized the unique opportunity to enter a vibrant and growing economy without going to the expense of building a new facility,” added Jane Bristol, the City’s Economic Development Director. “The Prescott area has been underserved in many of the product lines they offer, and regional shoppers will now be able to enjoy the same merchandise offered at stores in larger, more urban cities.”
City Manager Steve Norwood noted the positive fiscal impact of the company’s Prescott opening. “The addition of Bed Bath and Beyond to this market is a vote of confidence that economic conditions are on the upswing.”
